Choosing A Memorial
These days headstones are also known as monuments, memorials or grave markers.
Monument Technology - Much has changed in the monument industry during the last 100 years such as:
• Advances in computer technology
• Changes in carving techniques
• Availability of granites from all over the world
These changes have dramatically altered how memorials are purchased, designed, fabricated, and installed. While embracing these changes in technology and production in the industry, Carroll Memorials remains a small privately-owned company that treats grieving families with dignity and respect.

Design and Fabrication Process:
Rarely do clients come to us with experience in purchasing a monument for a loved one. We are dedicated to assisting our clients as they make sometimes difficult and emotional decisions. Carroll Memorials patiently guides our clients step-by-step through the purchase, design, fabrication, and installation process, allowing clients to feel comfortable and in control.
Step One - DESIGN:
We combine our experienced and creative designers with the latest Computer Aided Design (CAD) technology to produce high quality, personalized granite or bronze monuments. Carroll Memorials works hard to ensure that each client is actively involved in the planning and designing of the monument. Clients are invited to explore our large display and review a variety of brochures and photographs prior to choosing a monument design. Our designer sits down with each client to personalize the monument using the CAD technology. This allows us to make changes quickly and easily and provides both our clients and staff with a precise replica and template of the monument. All clients receive and approve a computer generated rendition of their monument prior to its fabrication.
Step Two - FABRICATION:
Using the CAD generated template, we produce a vinyl stencil of the memorial design. Our skilled craftsmen then use this to carve and sandblast each memorial. The stencil is removed, then the stone is cleaned and additional services such as shaped carving, hand carved letters, personalized etching, gold leaf, and raised lettering are completed. All details are checked against the computer design, and if the client chooses, a final approval is set up prior to installation.
Step Three – INSTALLATION:
Carroll Memorials works closely with area cemeteries to be sure the memorial is properly installed. All monuments are set on a concrete foundation and checked for accuracy and levelness. We take care to treat the surrounding areas with respect and give the stone a final cleaning upon installation.
Step Four – COMPLETION:
No stone is complete until the client is satisfied. All clients are notified by phone of the completed installation and will be sent a photograph of the completed monument, upon request.
